Think in Tangerines
Field research into the citrus trade, developed during a residency at Think Tanger.
Think in Tangerines is a research project tracing the citrus trade through the port city of Tangier, developed over a two-month residency at Think Tanger between May and July 2026. It extends the questions at the centre of The Best Selected into a new geography: how citrus moves from grove to ship to market, who handles it along the way, and what gets left behind once the fruit has moved on.
The research combined market visits, port observation at Tanger Med, and outreach to citrus farms outside the city, alongside more chance encounters, including a citrus healer met at Grand Socco Market.
The material gathered in Tangier sits alongside the wrapping-paper archive of The Best Selected, extending its working method (close attention to trade, labour, and the everyday objects that carry their traces) into a second citrus-producing context.
